Starachowice Municipal Stadium Modernization Unveils Cutting-edge Audio Equipment
The Starachowice Municipal Stadium in southeastern Poland has undergone a significant transformation, reaffirming AEQ's dedication to "technological excellence" in international sports environments. The modernization project, named "Stadion na STArt," has introduced a state-of-the-art audio system, featuring equipment from RCF, Bosch, and Yamaha, alongside AEQ's Olympia 3 commentary system.
The Olympia 3 system, installed in the renovated stadium, offers a host of advanced features. It boasts four solid-state ID message memories and a tone generator that can be assigned to any output bus. Moreover, the system includes integrated processors with equalization, filtering, and automix functions, enabling seamless and high-quality audio broadcasts.
One of the standout features of the Olympia 3 system is its ability to operate autonomously or be integrated into an intercom system. This flexibility ensures that commentators have the freedom to work independently or collaborate with other broadcast teams as needed. Furthermore, remote assistance to commentators can be provided without the need for additional hardware.
The reopening ceremony of the renovated stadium took place on June 1, with a match between the Polish Star soccer team and the Starachowice Old Boys team. Commentator Dariusz Szpakowski, a popular broadcaster seen on Poland's public broadcast network, Polish Television, and sportscasts, narrated the event using the Olympia 3 system.
In addition to the new audio system, the modernization project included a six-lane athletics track, new natural grass, an additional field with an artificial surface, new lighting, and a sound system designed to provide uniform coverage throughout the venue.
Polish integrator Tommex coordinated the project and serves as AEQ’s local partner. The total cost of the project was approximately $9 million USD.
