In the heart of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), the picturesque riverside village of Kysyl-Syr was recently the centre of a grand celebration. On August 30, the village was abuzz with sports, music, and gastronomy, marking a significant milestone in its development.

The event, supported by PАO "YATEK", was a vibrant spectacle that brought together the local community, municipal authorities, and various establishments. The riverside embankment improvement project, a key aspect of the celebration, was unveiled and will be presented at the V All-Russian competition for the best projects to create a comfortable urban environment for the Far East regions in 2026.

The day began with the YATEK Race, the most attended in history, which kicked off the celebration with over a hundred participants. The male category was won by Ravil Salimgareev, Stanislav Alekseev, and Anton Egorkin, while the female category was claimed by Musa Sergeeva, Olga Sitnikova, and Maria Karpova.

Creative workshops and masterclasses were held throughout the day, offering a diverse range of activities such as sambo techniques, skateboarding, modern dance, cooking, handicrafts, and a khomus masterclass by Yuliana Krivoshapkina.

The football tournament was the central event, with two matches played simultaneously. The IV YATEK Spartakiad also took place, with the "Heart of YATEK" team emerging victorious, winning the gold medals.

The evening show during the celebration featured a concert, a fire show, and a fireworks display over the Viluy River, with the highlight being a performance by the queen of Russian folk R'n'B, Biance.

Leading establishments in Yakutia presented dishes from around the world, while local producers offered original treats at the "CheeseFest" gastronomic festival. This year, fifteen catering establishments participated, a significant increase from the three that took part in the previous year.

A "Tree of Wishes" was set up at the "CheeseFest" site for suggestions on improving Kysyl-Syr's riverside embankment. The villagers' input and efforts were appreciated by Maria Afanasyeva, the head of the "Kyn" Fund, who expressed her gratitude.

The riverside embankment improvement project is a collaborative effort involving the "Kyn" Fund, Kysyl-Syr village administration, the Architecture and Urban Planning Department under the Head of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), ANO "Center for Competencies in Territorial Development", and the architectural bureau "GRD". Previously, a project to improve a skate park and alley in Kysyl-Syr won such a competition, with YATEK's contribution exceeding 43 million.

Entrepreneur Sergey Shishigin from Kysyl-Syr shared that the second gastronomic "CheeseFest" was a vibrant event and an opportunity for growth and exchange of experiences. The improvement project for Kysyl-Syr's riverside embankment is set to further enhance the village's appeal, making it an even more attractive destination for tourists and locals alike.
