Poropat's legacy with Weißenfelser basketball dates back to 2011. After serving as head coach with a few breaks, he played a crucial part in shaping the team and leading them to success. In fact, he managed to secure promotion to the Bundesliga in the ProA just in 2012. The 2013/14 season saw them finish 9th in the table—an achievement that earned him the "Trainer of the Year" award.
The Road Ahead
Following his departure in December 2015, Poropat made a return at the beginning of 2019. His leadership skills were on full display once again, helping the team secure survival during the challenging 2020/21 season in the midst of the corona pandemic. The team managed to finish the season in the 15th spot.
