In an exciting development for sports enthusiasts in Büderich, renovation work has commenced on the artificial turf pitch at the "At Eisenbrand" sports facility. The decision to renovate the facility was made by the local municipal council or relevant local sports authority, with a total budget of 600,000 euros allocated by the city administration.

The existing artificial turf system, which was installed in 2006, has become increasingly worn over the years due to intensive use. As a result, higher-level hockey games, selection games, or corresponding training measures could not be held on the pitch. The resulting holes and raised seams had to be repeatedly repaired.

However, the future looks bright as a new artificial turf will be laid on a 7,500 square meter elastic base layer. The new surface will be suitable for both football and hockey, and the playing properties, such as ball behavior and ball control, are expected to be improved.

For hockey players, the renovation is particularly significant as a water-filled pitch is required for the sport. Irrigation of the artificial turf is now standard on hockey pitches, ensuring optimal playing conditions.

The city administration recommended the exchange of the artificial turf due to its condition, and the renovation work is expected to enhance the sports facilities in Büderich, providing a better playing experience for all. The dismantling and recycling of the existing artificial turf system is currently underway, marking the beginning of a new era for sports in the town.
