Sports facility in Bad Krozingen's south shut down due to security concerns
The city administration, in collaboration with the UKBW and the municipal insurer, has made the decision to close the multi-purpose sports hall at Südring, Bad Krozingen. The closure, effective immediately, is due to safety concerns revealed by a recent safety inspection.
Defects in the hall floor were identified as posing an increased risk of accidents. A technical investigation confirmed the need for renovation, and a renovation concept is currently being developed.
Mayor Christoph Ober emphasised the importance of safety, stating, "The safety of all users remains our top priority."
The city is coordinating with the district administration, schools, and clubs to find alternative venues for school and club sports. No specific details about the alternative venues have been provided as yet.
The district administration and the involved clubs are part of the coordination for finding these alternative venues for sports activities. The schools are also involved in the coordination process.
A reopening date for the sports hall has not been announced, but the city anticipates the facility will reopen in early 2026. The renovation concept may allow for partial use of the sports hall before the complete renovation is completed.
The city encourages all users to stay informed about the progress of the renovation and the reopening of the sports hall. Updates will be provided as they become available.
Despite the closure of the multi-purpose sports hall at Südring, sports activities will continue thanks to the collaboration among the city, district administration, schools, and clubs. Due to the renovation work, sports-analysis may soon be possible in a partially operational sports hall before the complete renovation is completed.
