Gear up, sports fanatics! The 2021 Finals in the captivating city of Dresden promises an electrifying display of 133 German championship titles across 20 diverse sports. Preparations are underway, with the city's stunning landmarks standing tall in anticipation of the spectacle.

A press conference at the iconic Semperoper unveiled the competition's venue locations, revolving around nine hotspots situated within a 3.5-kilometer radius of the city center. Picture this: the legendary Frauenkirche backdrop for the crowning of 3x3 basketball and speed climbing champions or the Theaterplatz hosting archery and acting as the finish line for triathletes. First-timers in the line-up include coastal rowing and flag football, adding an element of fresh excitement.

Saxony's Minister of Sports, Armin Schuster, symbolically handed over a hefty one-million-euro check to Dresden's Mayor of Sports, Jan Donhauser, at the press conference. This monumental funding green-lights the city's support for the Finals in 2025.

"Saxony is a sports powerhouse, and hosting the Finals in Dresden is another significant boost for both our grassroots and for our elite sports," proclaimed Schuster. "With today's funding approval of one million euros, we're sending out a clear message: we're investing strategically in the future of sports and the development of talent in Saxony."

For the fifth edition, ARD and ZDF plan to produce around 30 hours of extensive coverage in their prime-time and current programs. This consists of online reporting, radio broadcasts from ARD, and approximately 100 hours of streams in the media libraries of both broadcasters.
