Vibing with Victory: Here's the captivating story of Olympic champion Eldos Smetov, with a twist of his near-retirement and triumph at the Paris Olympics, as reported by our site.

Eldos Smetov, the gold medalist at the Paris Olympics in the 60kg weight category, revealed some intriguing details about his journey to victory. In a particularly tough road to the 2024 Paris Olympics, he even contemplated hanging up his judo gear.

"The qualification process for Paris was a grueling experience. I even lost at the Asian Championships," Eldos reminisced, reflecting on his struggles.

Three months before the Olympics, Eldos decided to call it quits. But a heart-to-heart conversation with his parents changed everything.

"My father told me I had little time left until the Olympics. Give it another shot because you'll regret it later if you don't," he remembered his father saying.

"My mother told me she could sense joy ahead, and I couldn't quit sports after that," Eldos added, his voice filled with emotion.

With renewed determination, Eldos returned to the gym, pouring his heart and soul into his training. The journey was tough, demanding a lot of hard work and determination, but the victory in Paris made it all worth it.

After securing the gold medal, Eldos Smetov has completed his full set of medals. He won silver in Rio de Janeiro 2016 and bronze in Tokyo 2020, making his Paris victory a cherished addition to his collection.

Emboldened by his Paris triumph, Eldos announced his plans to participate in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. At the age of 36, the athlete is determined to prove that age is just a numbers game and that nothing is impossible for the young at heart.
