The Isle of Man is no stranger to the cycling world, thanks to the native cycling legend, Mark Cavendish - the core Tour de France stage winner of all time who's even taken on the Gran Fondo himself in 2019 and 2022.
Over the course of two heart-pounding days on 19th to 20th July, more than 1,000 cyclists hailing from every corner of the globe will compete across four grueling challenges: The Gran Fondo (85 miles), the Medio Fondo (39 miles), the Piccolo Fondo (20 miles), and the family-friendly Minisculo Fondo, set in the lush Ramsey’s Mooragh Park, the hub of the race village.
Since its inception, Gran Fondo Isle of Man has drawn over 8,000 cyclists from distant lands such as Japan, Australia, South Africa, and the USA. It's earned major kudos, named three years in a row by Cycling Weekly as one of their "Top Ten Must-Do" events, and from 2021-2024, it held its spot as a qualifying round for the esteemed UCI Gran Fondo World Series.
As the race enters its final year in its current format, organizers are keeping things under wraps, hinting at exciting future plans. Adding fuel to the fire, Altenar is joining the ride, new partner to this iconic event and reigniting a passion for community sports on the Isle of Man, following their successful sponsorship of the Isle of Man Marathon and Half Marathon, slated for August.
