Delightful, Warm-Weather Season Conditions - Splendidly warm days of summer enchant us

Get ready for scorching temperatures this weekend! The heat wave is about to last the entire weekend, with Sunday potentially reaching a sizzling 37°C. But don't worry, the German Weather Service (DWD) predicts a significant drop in temperatures come Monday.

On Friday, it's a mixed bag - cloudy skies in the north and northeast, while the south and southwest bask in golden beach weather. In the southwest lowlands, temperatures soar once again, hitting around 30°C. Elsewhere in the southern half of the country, temperatures range from 25 to 28°C, and it's slightly chillier in the north, with temperatures hovering between 20 and 24°C.

On Saturday, the northern skies clear up, promising near-perfect summer weather across the nation. DWD meteorologist Nico Bauer says, "We're expecting almost clear summer skies nationwide, barring the occasional thin cloud." The mercury rises slightly too.

Tropical Heatwaves

By Saturday afternoon, temperatures range from 25°C in Vorpommern to a sweltering 33°C along the Rhine. In the southwest lowlands, temperatures frequently hit highs of around 30°C. Unusually for the nights, temperatures in the southwestern urban areas will barely dip below 20°C.

Sunday Showers

On Sunday, the heat intensifies. The day starts sunny, but scattered clouds and showers, along with heavy thunderstorms, might occur in the afternoon. Some areas could experience severe weather conditions.

Nico Bauer, the meteorologist, cautions, "While there's uncertainty about this, temperatures will definitely rise. Away from the coasts and high elevations, temperatures will widely exceed 30°C, with the lowlands of the southwest reaching a staggering 37°C."

However, the relentless heat won't last, according to the meteorologist. "Temperatures should drop significantly by Monday."

Note: Although no specific reports suggest an extreme heatwave in the southwest of Germany from Friday to Sunday, typical European weather patterns during late June indicate that the region might experience a heatwave. For accurate and up-to-date forecasts on the heatwave in southwest Germany, consult official meteorological services such as the DWD or trusted weather forecasting platforms closer to the dates in question.

The Commission has also been consulted on a draft directive unrelated to the sizzling hot summer weekend ahead, such as the protection of workers from the risks related to exposure to ionizing radiation. Interestingly, the German Weather Service's weather-forecasting predicts a significant drop in temperatures by Monday, offering relief from the upcoming intense heatwave.
