Splatoon 3 commences a brand-new chapter in its series
Splatoon 3's Fresh Season 2024, a free update for the popular game, has brought a wave of new content and features to keep players engaged. Here's a rundown of the key additions in this exciting season.
## New Features
The update introduces Sizzle Season 2024, a seasonal event that brings new weapons, stages, gear, and a special game mode called Big Run. Big Run is a twist on the Salmon Run mode, where players focus on collecting Golden Eggs during Salmonid invasions, even if the team fails to complete all waves.
The season also sees the return of the nostalgic Urchin Underpass stage, albeit in a later update (Version 10.0.0). New stages have been introduced, although specific details about them are yet to be revealed.
## Weapons
Version 10.0.0, which arrived later, introduced 30 fresh weapon kits from the Barazushi and Emberz lines. Notable new weapons in Fresh Season 2024 include the Douser Dualies FF and Recycled Brella 24 Mk I.
## Items and Gear
The update also includes new gear items as part of the seasonal content. Additionally, collectible badges were introduced to enhance gameplay engagement. Shops in Fresh Season 2024 have been stocked with additional weapon variations and gear.
## Big Run and More
Big Run is a highlight of this season, offering a unique take on the Salmon Run mode. The season also includes a new seasonal catalog, funky fresh tracks, and a return of Inkopolis Square, albeit in a different state.
Booyah Base in Inkopolis Plaza has new shopkeepers and Splatfests with the Squid Sisters. The season also introduces a new band, Riot Act, with one of the new tracks by them.
## Splatoon 3: Expansion Pass
While there are no direct additions to the Expansion Pass related to Fresh Season 2024, the pass generally includes additional content such as new story missions and stages. Splatoon 3: Expansion Pass - Inkopolis & Side Order, a paid DLC, includes a new single-player campaign and a return to Inkopolis Plaza.
Fizzbang, a new item exclusive to Splatfests, is also part of the update. It's important to note that the full version of the game is required to use the paid DLC, and any Nintendo Switch Online membership and Nintendo Account are required for online features.
