Spider-Punk's Own Animated Film in Development
In exciting news for comic book fans, Sony Pictures Animation has officially announced the development of a standalone animated Spider-Punk movie. The film is being co-written by Daniel Kaluuya, who voiced the character in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023), and Ajon Singh.
Originating from Marvel Comics in 2015, Spider-Punk is a punk-rock version of Spider-Man from Earth-138, known for his rebellious, anti-establishment spirit. In the comics, he leads an underground resistance against Norman Osborn's authoritarian rule. While specific plot details for the animated film have yet to be disclosed, it is expected to delve into this edgy, defiant aspect of the character.
Daniel Kaluuya is set to reprise his role as Hobart "Hobie" Brown / Spider-Punk. The film is being produced by Plan B, with Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner serving as producers. However, a release date for the movie has not been announced, and the project is still in its early stages.
