Get ready, Glasgow! The Marvel Cinematic Universe's Spider-Man is taking over the city for the filming of the highly anticipated Spider-Man: Brand New Day. This fourth instalment in the Spider-Man franchise, starring Tom Holland, is set to be a thrilling adventure filled with high-energy action sequences and spectacular stunts.

As the city doubles as New York City, Spider-Man can be seen swinging through the streets, engaging in intense chases, and even battling a speeding tank and explosions. The film's tone appears to be intense and action-packed, promising a continuation of the superhero thriller style with fresh new energy and scenarios.

The title "Brand New Day" suggests a thematic new beginning or a significant change for Peter Parker/Spider-Man. Producer Amy Pascal has hinted that this film marks the start of a new trilogy following No Way Home, setting the stage for potential new narrative directions.

Unlike previous installments, a significant portion of this film has been filmed in Glasgow, marking a notable shift in filming location. Road closures and diversions are expected in the city until filming ends on 15 August. Some of the filming locations in Glasgow include Blythswood Street, Pitt Street, Wellington Street, and Bothwell Street.

The film's cast includes Charlie Cox as Daredevil, Jon Bernthal as The Punisher, and Zendaya reprising her role as Michelle Jones "MJ" Watson. The creators have stated that the film will have a different tone compared to the previous three movies.

US flags and banners have been displayed on buildings in the city, and New York Police Department cars, buses, and food vans have been spotted near the Scottish Event Campus. Fake items commonly seen in New York City have been placed on the streets to enhance the film's authenticity.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is expected to hit theatres next year, continuing the exciting journey of everyone's favourite web-slinger. Stay tuned for more updates on this exhilarating production.
