Spider-Man: Brand New Day unveils Tom Holland's fresh costume in intriguing teaser trailer
The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is gearing up for another thrilling Spider-Man adventure with the upcoming film, Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Scheduled for release on July 31, 2026, this highly anticipated movie promises to continue the web-slinging exploits of everyone's favourite wall-crawler, Peter Parker, portrayed once again by Tom Holland.
Joining Holland in the cast are Zendaya, reprising her role as MJ, and Jacob Batalon as Peter's former best friend, Ned. The film's screenplay is penned by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, with Destin Daniel Cretton directing.
The storyline picks up after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, with Peter attempting to focus on college and leave behind his Spider-Man duties. However, a new threat endangers his friends, forcing him to don the Spider-Man suit once more. The film will feature new dynamics as Spider-Man teams up with unexpected allies to protect his loved ones.
The plot involves not just Spider-Man but also includes characters like the Punisher, played by Jon Bernthal, and Hulk, portrayed by Mark Ruffalo. Reports suggest initial conflicts among Spider-Man, Punisher, and Hulk before realizing a greater villainous threat. Villains such as Mr. Negative and Tombstone are rumoured to appear.
Filming for Spider-Man: Brand New Day began in August 2025, primarily at Pinewood Studios in England and on location in Glasgow, Scotland. Sixty streets in Glasgow will be shut down for the production. The new Spider-Man suit in the teaser has a black spider and raised webbing, reminiscent of the costumes worn by Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield.
In a recent interview, Tom Holland expressed his excitement for the "old-school filmmaking" in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Kevin Feige, Marvel's president, hinted at a "different tonality" for the Punisher's character in the next Spider-Man movie.
Joining the cast are Sadie Sink and Liza Colón-Zayas in undisclosed roles. Feige and Amy Pascal produce Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The production aims to recreate New York City for the film.
