In the world of Marvel, the friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man is getting a fresh start. Tom Holland's Peter Parker, who has previously teamed up with some of Marvel's biggest stars, including Robert Downey Jr., Samuel L. Jackson, and Benedict Cumberbatch, is set to return in "Spider-Man: Brand New Day".

The film, scheduled to begin production at the end of this month in the United Kingdom, is set in 2027 in the MCU timeline and picks up 2-3 years after the events of "Spider-Man: No Way Home". After Doctor Strange wiped everyone's memory of Peter Parker and his secret identity as Spider-Man, Peter must navigate a new world as he balances college, part-time work, and his role as New York’s friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.

The plot centers on Peter facing a mysterious force unraveling the city from within, forcing him to navigate powerful enemies, old legacies, and unexpected allies while redefining what it means to be a hero on his own. The movie marks a return to street-level crime for Spider-Man after larger multiverse threats.

Confirmed characters appearing in the film include Peter Parker / Spider-Man (Tom Holland), Frank Castle / The Punisher (Jon Bernthal), Bruce Banner / The Hulk, Martin Li / Mr. Negative (a crime boss with a public saviour image), and Tombstone (villain).

The storyline involves tension between Spider-Man and the Punisher over Martin Li’s true nature—Li is publicly a humanitarian but secretly the crime boss running the "Inner Demons" gang. This sets up emotional and moral conflicts for Peter, who must decide whom to trust, as Frank Castle is determined to take down bad guys regardless of reputation.

Joining the cast is Sadie Sink from Stranger Things, whose role in the film remains unknown. Mark Ruffalo is also returning to the Marvel Universe as Bruce Banner aka The Hulk, making this his first live action Hulk appearance since the 2022 "She-Hulk: Attorney at Law" show on Disney Plus.

The movie's script is being written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, who have worked on the scripts for previous Spider-Man flicks and "Ant-Man and the Wasp". Destin Daniel Cretton, director of "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings", is directing the film.

The release date for "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" is set for July 31, 2026. This will be Jon Bernthal's first appearance as The Punisher in the MCU outside of the Netflix superhero shows. Reports suggest that Hulk, Punisher, and Spider-man may be induced to fight one another in the film.

As Peter Parker embarks on this new chapter, he will have to confront complex alliances and threats. With a confirmed lineup of key Marvel characters including Spider-Man, the Punisher, Hulk, Mr. Negative, and Tombstone, "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" promises to be an exciting addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

In the upcoming movie "Spider-Man: Brand New Day", Peter Parker will navigate his college life, part-time work, and duties as New York's friendly neighborhood Spider-Man amidst entertainment filled with action, suspense, and drama. Joining him are various key Marvel characters, such as the Punisher, Hulk, Mr. Negative, and Tombstone, creating a thrilling addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
