Speeding Ticket for Browns Defensive End Myles Garrett: Exceeded Speed Limit by 40 mph on a 60 mph Road
Cleveland Browns' Defensive Star Myles Garrett Cited for Speeding
Myles Garrett, a six-time Pro Bowler and four-time First Team All-Pro defensive end for the Cleveland Browns, was cited for traveling at 100 mph in a 60 mph zone on Saturday night. This is the eighth such incident since he was drafted first overall in 2017.
The speeding incident occurred at 2:01 a.m. on Saturday, after the Browns had just landed at 1:30 a.m. following a preseason game in Carolina. Garrett was driving his gray 2014 Ferrari at the time of the citation.
Garrett's speeding history with the Browns has been well-documented over the years. He has been cited multiple times for speeds as high as 120 mph, and even charged with reckless operation of a motor vehicle following a crash. In 2020, he was involved in a car accident where he flipped his Porsche 911 Turbo S multiple times.
The most recent citation occurred in August 2025, when he was caught driving 100 mph in a 60 mph zone, resulting in a $250 fine. He is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.
Coach Kevin Stefanski has expressed his disappointment with Garrett's speeding, calling it "extremely disappointing" and urging him to slow down for safety reasons. The Browns have not yet commented on the recent speeding incident.
Despite the speeding incidents, Garrett has been a force as a defensive end for the Cleveland Browns. He has made 117 appearances (114 starts) for the team, tallying 352 tackles and 102.5 sacks. Garrett was even named the 2023 Defensive Player of the Year.
Earlier this year, Garrett signed a four-year contract extension with the Cleveland Browns, which includes $123.5 million guaranteed. The Browns are scheduled to travel to Philadelphia on Tuesday for two joint practices and a preseason game.
It remains to be seen how this latest speeding incident will impact Garrett and the Browns moving forward.
