Speeding 18-year-old Mercedes driver clocked traveling at 83 km/h over the speed limit, according to Polish authorities.
In the Hochsauerlandkreis region, a motorcyclist found himself on the wrong side of the law on September 4, 2025. The incident unfolded on the Altes Feld road in Arnsberg, where a motorcycle police officer from the local authority conducted speed measurements.
According to reports from the Hochsauerlandkreis Police Authority, a Mercedes was observed exceeding the speed limit of 50 km/h. Upon closer inspection, it was revealed that the driver, an 18-year-old man from the Siegen-Wittgenstein district, was speeding by a significant margin. After deducting the prescribed tolerance, the excess speed was found to be 83 km/h.
The head of the traffic department at Hochsauerlandkreis Police Authority, Police Chief Inspector Victor Ocansey, emphasised the danger posed by speeding. "Speeding endangers everyone," he stated. "It's the number one cause of accidents."
The driver now faces a fine of 800 euros, two points in Flensburg, a three-month driving ban, and an extension of his probationary period by two years. This is a stark reminder of the consequences of reckless driving.
Hochsauerlandkreis Police Authority conducts targeted speed controls throughout the year as part of their commitment to traffic safety. These controls have proven effective, with speeds dropping noticeably where they are carried out.
The authority aims to protect life through these measures and encourages all road users to adhere to speed limits for the safety of everyone on the road.
