Speakers in Lafayette scheduled for October 21 will be the bereaved parents of the woman who lost her life in the October 7 attacks in Israel.
In a heartbreaking turn of events, Adi Vital Kaploun, a mother of two young children, was tragically killed during the Hamas attacks on Kibbutz Holit in Israel on October 7, 2023.
Adi, a Canadian citizen, was among the victims of these attacks that also claimed the lives of several other Canadians. Her story, shared by her parents, Jacqui and Yaron Vital, serves as a poignant reminder of the personal impact of these attacks.
On that fateful day, Adi was protecting her children in a safe room when militants infiltrated the community. Despite her efforts, she was unfortunately taken by the militants into Gaza and was later released under unknown circumstances. Her husband, Yaron, survived the attack and was staying in a nearby guesthouse.
Jacqui and Yaron have bravely shared their story publicly, including in a video where they recount the events and honour Adi's memory. Their courage in sharing their pain is a testament to their love for Adi and their determination to keep her memory alive.
On October 21, 2023, Jacqui and Yaron will share their daughter's story at Temple Isaiah in Lafayette, CA. The event, starting at 6:30 p.m. in the sanctuary, is free and open to the public, with donations of $36 or more encouraged to help cover costs.
The event is sponsored by Temple Isaiah's Israel and World Jewry Committee, and all honorarium funds from the event will go toward supporting the education of Adi's children.
