SPD Re-emerges in Alstaden and Lirich

In a significant gathering held in February 2025, the SPD local branch in Alstaden and Lirich, Oberhausen, held its annual general meeting. The event marked the beginning of preparations for the upcoming municipal elections in the fall, which will encompass the districts of Alstaden and Lirich, as well as the district council Alt-Oberhausen.

During the meeting, several key decisions were made. Alexis Heitmann was re-elected as chairman of the SPD local branch Oberhausen-West with a unanimous vote, continuing his leadership for another two years. The elections for the team of deputy chairpersons were also unanimous. Sonja Bongers and Ralf Bohnes were elected as deputies for the next two years, while Max Aßenmacher, Dagmar Heitmann, Jutta Kluß, Michael Kreutz, Vincent Lindemann, Dietmar Look, Bülent Sahin, Stefan Alpers, Aliyar Bektas, Jill Wasiak, and Gionatan De Castro were elected as deputies for the SPD local branch.

Manfred Ecker was re-elected as secretary for the SPD local branch, but Markus Schwarz was also elected as a new secretary. Sascha Boehle and Michael Fendrich were re-elected as treasurers for the branch.

In a move to strengthen the party's presence in the upcoming elections, nominations were made for the four electoral wards in Alstaden and Lirich. Sonja Bongers, Dagmar Heitmann, Dietmar Look, and Bülent Sahin were nominated as SPD candidates. For the district council Alt-Oberhausen, Ralf Bohnes and Jutta Kluß were nominated as a duo by the SPD.
