SPD leader Alexis Heitmann continues to lead in Alstaden and Lirich
Oberhausen-West SPD Local Branch: Heitmann Re-elected as Chairperson, New Projects and Events Announced
Alexis Heitmann has been re-elected as the Chairperson of the SPD Local Branch Oberhausen-West, securing 100% of the votes from approximately 30 members during the annual general meeting in February 2025. Heitmann, who has been leading the SPD in Alstaden and Lirich since spring 2020, will serve another two-year term in this position.
The SPD Local Branch Oberhausen-West, with around 200 members from the city districts Alstaden and Lirich, is an active and engaged community. The branch organises events such as the annual Easter egg hunt and has political representation in the city council and local district boards.
The upcoming projects for Alstaden and Lirich, as discussed by Heitmann in his annual report, include plans for the redesign of the Ruhrpark, open-air sports in the Lirich Jochem Park, and the council's order for the construction of a new municipal sports hall for Alstaden.
In addition to these projects, Heitmann has declared his goal for the SPD to be visible and approachable as a local helper throughout the year, not just during election campaigns. To this end, the SPD Information Stand will be at the Green Corner on 18.03, and the traditional Easter Egg Hunt at Ruhrpark is scheduled for 09.04.2023.
The local branch has also welcomed around 20 new members in the past two years, with an increase in young members under 35 in 2022. Sonja Bongers and Ralf Bohnes were confirmed as deputies, while Manfred Ecker and Jill Wasiak were elected as Treasurers, and Sascha Böhle and Michael Fendrich were elected as Cashiers.
