SPD Endorses Dennis Rehbein
In the recent Hagen mayoral election, the SPD candidate Thomas Köhler faced a close race against the AfD candidate. Despite his defeat, Köhler received support from fellow SPD member Dennis Rehbein in the runoff election.
Köhler, who was the SPD candidate in the runoff, lost to the AfD candidate by a margin of 151 votes. The exact number of votes Köhler received is not known, but it was clear that the race was a close one.
Despite his loss, Köhler remains associated with the SPD party and has expressed his support for Dennis Rehbein, the CDU candidate who will be facing the AfD candidate in the runoff election.
Both Köhler and Rehbein have stated their intentions to improve things in Hagen, with Köhler expressing his desire to improve the hometown he loves.
In the days leading up to the election, Köhler made statements about the importance of democracy and the need for democrats in positions of power, particularly in the position of the new Hagen's Mayor.
It is worth noting that the SPD conducted a vote recount following the election, and all votes in the recount supported Dennis Rehbein. This indicates a positive relationship between Thomas Köhler and Dennis Rehbein, despite their political differences.
As of now, the new Mayor of Hagen is yet to be officially confirmed, but Dennis Rehbein is the candidate supported by the SPD. It remains to be seen whether he will be able to secure the position in the upcoming runoff election.
