Spartak has secured a continuation of their partnership with Serbian defender Babić.

Football club Spartak Moscow has revealed the continuation of Srdjan Babic's contract. The fresh deal with the Serbian defender, aged 29, runs till 2027, with a possible extra year upon mutual agreement.

Spartak has secured a continuation of their partnership with Serbian defender Babić.

Srdjan Babich, the 29-year-old goalkeeper of Russian football club Spartak Moscow, has turned down a lucrative offer from a Saudi Arabian club to continue his career with the Russian side.

The offer, reported to be worth €10 million, came in January, but Babich decided to stay with Spartak. This decision showcases his commitment to the club and his ambition to further establish himself in the Russian Premier League.

Babich, who joined Spartak from Almería in August 2023 for €5 million, has been a key player for the team since his arrival. Last season, he played a crucial role in helping Spartak set a club record with 17 clean sheets in the RPL, featuring in 13 of them.

The Serbian national team player has also made a significant impact on the field for Spartak, playing 55 matches and scoring five goals. His most notable achievement with the team was reaching the final of the Regions' Path in the Russian Cup, where they unfortunately lost to Rostov (1:2).

Babich's contract with Spartak has been extended until the summer of 2027, with an option for an additional year. His market value, according to Transfermarkt, stands at €6 million.

As for the future, Spartak's opponents in upcoming friendly matches will be announced at a later date.

Babich's previous footballing journey includes stints at Crvena Zvezda, Voždovac, and Famalicão before joining Spartak. He made his debut for the Serbian national team in September 2022, and as of current, he has played 10 matches for the team, scoring one goal.

With Babich's commitment to Spartak, fans can look forward to seeing him in action when the team returns from vacation on June 20.
