GiroLive-Panthers Set Sights on Another Successful Season in Bundesliga

The GiroLive-Panthers, Osnabrück's women's basketball team, are gearing up for the 2025-2026 Damen-Basketball-Bundesliga (DBBL) season, with a nearly finalized roster and a clear ambition to build continuity and success.

Notable additions to the team include Stina Almqvist, a standout University of Pennsylvania alumna and first-team All-Ivy player, who brings strong collegiate experience and leadership to the Panthers. Almqvist expressed excitement about the Panthers' stable and basketball-focused club culture, which includes long-term connections among players and coaching staff under coach Sasa Cuic.

The Panthers play their home games in Schlosswallhalle, Osnabrück, and have been competing in the top tier of German women's basketball for over ten years. Their consistent performance has earned them the title of the highest-placed women's team in the region. In the season before the last, they finished third, and in the last season, they reached the playoffs.

The Chairman of the Board of Sparkasse Osnabrück, Johannes Hartig, is enthusiastic about the extension of the sponsorship, citing the team's impressive performances and contributions to the region. Sparkasse Osnabrück has agreed to continue its sponsorship of the OSC basketball team until 2026, a move that is seen as a means to further promote young talent in the region.

The Panthers' next confirmed league game after the offseason will be on November 8, 2025, against Mitteldeutscher BC.
