SPARC AI's Overwatch upgrade redefines drone navigation without GPS reliance

SPARC AI Inc. has rolled out a major upgrade to its Overwatch GPS-denied navigation system. The update allows corrected waypoints, position fixes, and mission plans to be exported directly into existing drone maps software. This move comes as demand for reliable navigation in contested electromagnetic environments rises across commercial and defence sectors.

In a separate development, the company has also granted stock options to two consultants.

The latest Overwatch solution now supports seamless integration with 15 different drone platforms and ecosystems. These include flight control systems like ArduPilot, PX4, and MAVLink, as well as ground stations such as QGroundControl, Litchi, and UgCS. The system is also compatible with OEMs like DJI, Autel, and Parrot, alongside formats such as KML, GeoJSON, XML, and CSV.

The upgrade tackles a key challenge in drone operations: maintaining navigation accuracy when GPS signals are jammed, blocked, or unreliable. Such scenarios often occur in dense urban areas, underground facilities, or during electronic warfare. By enabling Overwatch-corrected data to flow into existing flight management systems, operators can now maintain continuity without hardware changes.

This expanded interoperability benefits both single drone users and large defence organisations managing mixed fleets. The system's universal export capability ensures a unified workflow, making it a strategic advancement for defence applications where cross-platform compatibility is critical.

Meanwhile, SPARC AI has granted 125,000 stock options each to consultants Ron Shenton and Larry Kristof. The options carry an exercise price of $1.30 per share and are set to expire on February 25, 2027.

The Overwatch upgrade positions SPARC AI's solution as a hardware-agnostic 'drift fix' for drones operating in GPS-threatened environments. It supports a wide range of platforms, from open-source flight controllers to commercial drone ecosystems. The company's technology now provides a scalable navigation solution for both commercial and defence users facing signal disruption.
