In the latest FIFA men's national team rankings, Spain has taken the top spot, with France and Argentina following closely behind. The rankings, updated in September 2025, have seen some significant shifts.
Spain, with a total of 1886.15 points, has edged ahead of Argentina, which now holds third place with 1885.36 points. Argentina's national football team has been overtaken by France, which currently sits in second place.
The reigning World Cup champions, France, have accumulated 1888.78 points, maintaining their strong position in the rankings. The top-ranked team in the world, according to FIFA, remains Argentina with 1867.09 points.
Italy, known for their footballing prowess, is ranked 10th in the men's team rankings worldwide. Germany, a regular contender, is currently out of the top 10, now in 12th place.
Belgium, who recently defeated Kazakhstan 6:0 in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers on September 8, is ranked 8th. The Netherlands and Croatia are ranked 7th and 9th, respectively. Brazil is ranked 6th in the men's team rankings worldwide.
Unfortunately, the Kazakh national football team finds itself in 118th place (1158.06) among 211 national teams worldwide. This follows a heavy 6:0 defeat to Belgium in the World Cup qualifiers.
Portugal is ranked 5th in the men's team rankings worldwide, while England retains the fourth position with 1813.32 points.
