Spain is, according to Aznar, controlled by secret forces. He urges the PP party to maintain composure, yet stay in a high-stress state.

Former Prime Minister José María Aznar has asserted that Spain is currently under the control of criminal elements and has urged the conservative People's Party (PP), led by Alberto Núñez Feijóo, to maintain a steady hand while maintaining high levels of alertness. Aznar voiced his concerns during the closing ceremony of the FAES cycle 'Where is the Transatlantic Relationship Going?' in Madrid.

Aznar's comments come in response to President of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, encouraging allies of the Socialist PSOE party to submit a motion of censure against the "corruption riddled" government. Feijóo described the state of the executive as "putrefied" and announced a rally in Madrid on July 8 against the "indecent" administration of Pedro Sánchez.

Aznar recounted his earlier cautionary statements, issued during a gathering with former President Felipe González 10 days ago, where he warned of the potential dangers when the criminal underworld ascends to positions of power.

"The stench produced by this situation is intolerable," Aznar stated. He added that the damage inflicted on various institutions, including the President of the Government, the State Attorney General's Office, and the Security Forces, would be enormous, as no institution remains undamaged.

Addressing his party, Aznar encouraged the PP to exercise restraint while maintaining a high degree of vigilance. "We have two years until the elections, but what we are witnessing now may only be the beginning," he cautioned.

Aznar did not advocate for early elections, stating that any prospect of early elections would depend on whether the underworld in power desires a return to obscurity, an outcome he doubts the majority of Spaniards would support. Instead, he encouraged the PP to prepare for elections with a clear mind and robust determination.

Months after his declaration that "whoever can, let them do it," Aznar reaffirmed his sentiments, arguing it was a time for urgency, not neutrality or restraint. He praised Feijóo's leadership and suggested that the upcoming national congress should focus on crafting a unifying agenda for Spain, rather than discussing internal matters.

In additional comments, Aznar criticized Pedro Sánchez for what he perceived as a desire to wage war on Israel. After commenting on the escalating tension between the governments of Pedro Sánchez and Benjamin Netanyahu, Aznar offered his views on international matters, advocating for the strengthening of Ukraine as a warning to Russia and upholding the importance of NATO's expansion.

What is Aznar urging the People's Party to maintain amidst the current political situation in Spain, as he perceives criminal elements in control? He is asking for a steady hand and high levels of alertness, while also advocating for policy-and-legislation discussions during the upcoming national congress to address the general-news topics that lie ahead.
