Space Marine's Redesigned Version of Warhammer 40,000 Is on the Horizon
Grab your bolt gun and get ready to revisit the gritty world of the Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine Master Crafted Edition! This badass third-person shooter is making a triumphant return, thanks to the magic touch of the brilliant folks at SneakyBox. Producer Vaidas Mikelskas describes this as a loving revamp that's all about bridging the gap between the past and the present, keeping the essence that made the original a legend while giving it a sparkling facelift for the next generation of space marines.
Expect a visual overhaul, a modernised UI and control scheme, and more than a century's worth of new voice lines to hear as you tear through the Ork hordes. The Orks have also received an update to bring their look more in line with their current vibe in the Warhammer lore.
Originally developed by Relic Entertainment and released in 2011 with generally positive reviews, the game had two planned sequels. Tragically, those never came to be when the game's publisher, THQ, shut its doors. But don't despair, fellow space marines! Sega, who nabbed Relic two years later, re-released the game on PC back in 2021. Now, Saber Interactive is crafting a fresh sequel for publisher Focus Entertainment, which racked up some pretty impressive reviews in 2024 and has its own follow-up in the works.
As of now, Sega hasn't announced a PlayStation 5 version of the Master Crafted Edition, but if you're itching to get your space marine on, you can grab it for PC, Xbox Series X|S, or Xbox Game Pass starting June 10, 2025!
