Here Comes the 'Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine' Remaster!

It's been a year since its sequel dropped, and now the original Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine is marching into modern gaming territory. This revamped masterpiece, known as the "Master Crafted Edition," is gracing our screens, thanks to the work of port developer, SneakyBox. According to producer, Vaidas Mikelskas, this update is all about striking a balance between the game's glorious past and shiny, new future. He describes it as a heartfelt restoration that preserves the game's unique charm while giving it a polished, contemporary sheen for a whole new generation of gamers.

The update brings a slew of changes, including enhanced graphics, a snazzy new user interface, and a refined control scheme. But the improvements don't stop there. The Orks have received a visual overhaul to align more closely with their current representation in the Warhammer 40K universe. Additionally, the game boasts over 100 new voice lines to keep your ears entertained.

Originally developed by Relic Entertainment, the first Space Marine dropped in 2011 and received largely positive reviews. Despite plans for two sequels, things didn't work out when the game's publisher THQ shuttered its doors. Fast forward two years, and Sega stepped in, acquiring Relic and re-releasing the game on PC in 2021. Later in the same year, Saber Interactive began development on the sequel for publisher Focus Entertainment, which hit the markets in 2024 and is now gearing up for its sequel.

Currently, Sega hasn't announced a PlayStation 5 version of the Master Crafted Edition. If you're itching to get your hands on this remastered classic, you'll have to do it via PC, Xbox Series X|S, or Xbox Game Pass on June 10 (with the PC version potentially dropping a day earlier).

Keep an eye out for updates on your favorite franchises! Don't miss out on the latest in the Marvel, Star Wars, and Star Trek universes, the future of the DC Universe on the big and small screen, and everything you need to know about the upcoming seasons of Doctor Who.

PS: The official release dates for the PC, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox Game Pass versions of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine - Master Crafted Edition are set for June 10, 2025. However, according to Instant-Gaming, the PC version might be available a day earlier, on June 9, 2025. Make sure to check the official release times on the platforms for accuracy.

Gizmodo and io9 might discuss the updated graphics and user interface in the Master Crafted Edition of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine, as well as the potential inclusion of over 100 new voice lines.

In their entertainment section, Gizmodo and io9 could feature a piece on the future of gaming, pointing to the remastered version of Space Marine as an example of a classic game being given a contemporary sheen for a new generation of gamers.
