Space Marine, the Warhammer 40,000 title, is receiving an upgrade.
This June 10, players can anticipate the release of the updated "Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition." Developed by SneakyBox, this revamped third-person shooter features graphical enhancements, a modernized user interface, and an overhauled control scheme. The Orks have also undergone visual rejuvenation to align with their contemporary appearance within the Warhammer 40K franchise. Moreover, over one hundred new voice lines have been added.
Originally developed by Relic Entertainment and launched in 2011, the original Space Marine received generally positive reviews. Although two sequels were planned, their development fell apart following THQ's closure. Sega acquired Relic in 2013 and re-released the game on PC in 2021. A sequel was then developed by Saber Interactive and published by Focus Entertainment, receiving strong reviews in 2024 with a follow-up currently in development.
At present, Sega holds the rights to the first Space Marine, with no confirmed PlayStation 5 version of the Master Crafted Edition announced. Players can acquire it on PC via Steam, the Epic Games Store, and the Microsoft Store, or play it via Xbox Game Pass on its release date.
