Space Marine from Warhammer 40,000 is Long Overdue for an Update
Gearing Up for the 2025 Return:
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine - Master Crafted Edition is making a comeback, gracing modern gaming platforms one year following its sequel's release. Port development duties are handled by SneakyBox, promising an intriguing blend of the game's timeless charm and contemporary gaming experiences.
In an exclusive statement, producer Vaidas Mikelskas shared his thoughts, describing the update as a "meticulous restoration... a harmonious dialogue between the past and present, safeguarding the essence that made the original stand out, while polishing it for a brand-new generation of gamers." The Master Crafted Edition incorporates updated graphics, a refreshed user interface, and an enhanced control scheme, breathing new life into the third-person shooter.
One significant change is the visual update given to the Orks, aligning them more closely with their present-day depiction within the franchise's canon. Additionally, over 100 new voice lines have been added to enhance the gaming experience.
First debuting in 2011, the original Space Marine received generally positive reviews, with two sequels initially planned. Currently, rights to the first Warhammer 40K: Space Marine remain with Sega, who have yet to announce a PlayStation 5 version of the Master Crafted Edition. For now, gamers eager to delve back into the game must restrict their attention to PC, Xbox Series X|S, or Xbox Game Pass, with the release slated for June 10, 2025.
