Eastdale Little League's Southwest Regional Journey Comes to an End

Eastdale Little League's run in the Southwest Regionals was cut short after a 5-1 loss to Tulsa, Oklahoma. The decisive game took place at Marvin Norcross Stadium in Waco, Texas.

Coach Mike McDuffie commended his team's performance, stating that they competed better in the game. Despite the loss, Eastdale displayed resilience, limiting Oklahoma to four hits and no runs over the final three innings. Coy Crater relieved starter Louis Patterson in the third frame, and the team's defence, particularly Brom Eaton and Rylan McDuffie, made notable defensive plays.

Oklahoma capitalised on their opportunities early, scoring five runs in the first three innings. The runs were a result of five hits, eight walks, and one Eastdale error. Louis Patterson scored a run in the fifth inning due to a throwing error, reducing Oklahoma's lead to 5-1.

Eastdale left two runners on base to end the fifth inning, marking the last significant threat for them. The team's offensive efforts overall were stymied, despite being able to get some runners on base.

Jackson Timmerman, the Oklahoma starting pitcher, pitched all six innings, allowing only four hits while striking out nine. McDuffie did not provide specific details about the team's future plans or goals.

McDuffie expressed that the team's unity and support for each other is special and something not every team possesses. He emphasised that the team has bonded together and worked towards a common goal. The camaraderie and mutual support, according to McDuffie, is something that they will always remember.

Despite the loss, the team can take pride in their performance and the memories they created during their Southwest Regional journey.
