"Southwest German Chamber Orchestra Kick-Starts New Season with Mozart Performance"
The Southwest German Chamber Orchestra Pforzheim is set to begin its 2023/24 subscription season with a captivating concert featuring the works of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, the renowned king of Viennese classicism.
The opening program, scheduled for Sunday, October 8, at 7 pm in the Great Hall of the Pforzheim CongressCentrum, promises a musical journey through some of Mozart’s most beloved and vibrant compositions. The concert will showcase his mastery in overtures, concertos, and symphonies, offering elements of majesty, brilliance, intimacy, and quirkiness.
Douglas Bostock, the Chief Conductor, will introduce the concert at 6 pm. Ticket prices for students, students, volunteers, and Goldstadt pass holders are eligible for a 50% discount with valid ID. Tickets for the general public range from 30 to 59 euros. Admission to the foyer of the middle hall for the concert introduction is free.
The box office opens at 5:45 pm for ticket purchases. The concert will feature several works by Mozart, including the Overture to Die Zauberflöte (The Magic Flute), K. 620, Violin Concerto No. 3 in G major, K. 216, Symphony No. 31 in D major, K. 297, "Paris", and the Es major Symphony No. 39, a late symphony by Mozart.
The program will also include the "Crown Concerto" in D major by Mozart, described by Vladimir Ashkenazy as one of the "most extroverted" piano concertos by the composer. Vasco Dantas will perform the "Crown Concerto" in the concert.
In addition, the Southwest German Chamber Orchestra Pforzheim will perform Divertimento KV 318. Tickets for the concert can be purchased in advance via the chamber orchestra's online shop and at Reservix advance booking points.
