South-South PDP Chairperson Predicts Return of Okowa and Oborevwori, Similar to Uduaghan's Case

For Emma Ogidi, the Caretaker Committee Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the South South region, the PDP is proving it's still the driving force behind Delta State's development, despite the high-profile departures of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.

In an exclusive chat with Vanguard, Ogidi urged PDP supporters to maintain faith in the party's ability to rebound and bring more prosperity to Delta State.

"Listen, the PDP remains kickin' in Delta State mighty fine. Hell yeah, we've taken a knock with those departures, but we ain't sweatin' it. PDP's still holdin' court here in the state.

"I've been fieldin' calls from folks who are gonna stand their ground. They ain't leavin', an' there's still this wild spirit in PDP hangin' 'round.

"Y'know why? PDP's gonna take the credit for all this development ya see in Delta State. PDP's been the catalyst for all these fancy Mansions, luxury cars, an' thriving businesses you see in Delta State. This here growth? That's all PDP.

"Now we've got folks hoppin' ship, joinin' the APC — they've got their reasons, but those of us who're stayin' put? We've got our reasons too. We're committed to keepin' the torch lit for Delta State.

"The PDP's been the backbone of Delta State and Deltans should appreciate that. I reckon there's still hope for the PDP here."

Ogidi also hinted at potential legal action against the defectors, arguing that the Electoral Act requires them to vacate their positions following the move to APC.

But perhaps the most intriguing aspect of Ogidi's rallying cry is his optimism for the return of Oborevwori and Okowa to the PDP. While no official communication about the possibility of their return has been made, Ogidi's focus on rebuilding and reorganizing the party's leadership reflects hope for a political sea change.

Meanwhile, the All Progressives Congress (APC) remains mute on the subject of its true potential to catalyze growth and transformation in Delta State.
