In a remarkable turn of events, the second episode of the current season of South Park, titled "Got a Nut," has broken several viewership records for Comedy Central. The episode, which aired on August 6, posted the biggest-ever young adult viewership share in the show's history, with an impressive 15.61% share among adults aged 18-49.

This success in linear viewing also translated to a significant improvement, scoring the highest live+3 rating for Comedy Central since 2018, with a rating of 1.531 in adults 18-49 (live+3). The viewership number includes viewers on Paramount+ and Comedy Central, totaling 6.2 million global multiplatform viewers in its first three days of release.

The episode, which tackled United States Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem and a "Fantasy Island" style Mar-a-Lago with Donald Trump and JD Vance, outperformed the season premiere in both total viewers and adults 18-49 ratings. However, Noem criticized the show for her depiction as "lazy" and "petty" during an interview on Glenn Beck's show, despite not having watched the episode herself.

Despite Noem's criticism, the viewership remained unaffected, with the second episode averaging 1.56 million in live+3 on Comedy Central, up 46% from the season premiere. A post-credits scene, which didn't make it to air, showed Noem walking into a pet store and opening fire on the puppies inside.

Interestingly, ICE utilized a still from the second episode's teaser to promote its website. The official South Park X account responded to this with a post, "Wait, so we ARE relevant? #eatabagofdicks."

Unfortunately, there will be no new episode tonight. Instead, Comedy Central will repeat the show's very first episode, "Cartman Gets an Anal Probe." The next new episode is scheduled to air on Aug. 20.
