'South Park' TV series episodes from seasons 1 to 26 will be removed from HBO Max within the upcoming week.
As of August 5, 2025, the entire South Park library, including seasons 1-26, feature-length specials, and upcoming new episodes, will stream exclusively on Paramount+. This move marks the end of Warner Bros. Discovery's relationship with the iconic animated series.
The shift in streaming rights comes after a five-year, $1.5 billion deal signed between Paramount Global and Trey Parker and Matt Stone's Park County company. The deal, announced in July 2025, also includes a commitment for the duo to produce 50 new episodes of South Park over the next five years.
The move to Paramount+ follows the premiere of South Park Season 27, which drew in 5.9 million viewers across both Comedy Central and Paramount+ in the first three days. The premiere episode, titled "Sermon on the 'Mount", was a controversial one, featuring a provocative depiction of former President Donald Trump.
South Park Season 27 premiered on Comedy Central on July 23, with new episodes airing on Wednesday evenings. Paramount+ began streaming the season on July 24, the same day as the San Diego Comic Con panel where Trey Parker and Matt Stone promised that they would not be releasing canned material for South Park episodes.
A teaser for Season 27 Episode 2 was released on July 29, offering a glimpse into the show's continued satirical take on current events. The episode is scheduled to air on Comedy Central on Wednesday, August 5, and stream on Paramount+ the next day.
Paramount Global, the company that acquired the rights to South Park, is now owned by Skydance. With the exclusive streaming rights to South Park, Paramount+ is poised to become the go-to destination for fans of the long-running animated series.
