Been foiled by some crappy weather yet again? Have no fear, we've got all the dirt on the latest stormy thyromancy in the south and east of Germany!

After a stormy weekend, expecting more of the same in various regions. Keep an eye out for hail, gusty winds, and all that jazz.

The German Meteorological Service (DWD) has issued a stern warning for Sunday afternoon, predicting rain, hail, and brutal wind gusts in the southern and eastern parts of the country. Locally, prepping for some serious weather issues, with hail up to 3cm in diameter and winds reaching speeds of a 100km/h.

Rain, rain, and more rain is coming. Expect showers of up to 40 liters per square meter or more than 60 liters per square meter in just a few hours. The stormy weather will hang in the east and southeast until Monday night before moving eastward. Y'all better hold onto your hats!

Bye-bye to the stormy skies, we're lookin' at a calmer and clearer start to the new week. Parts of the east and southeast will remain mostly cloudy on Monday with random downpours, but we should expect dry skies across the country by the end of it. Bonus points for some sunshine down southwest and along the North Sea. Temps between 20 to 26 degrees Celsius, just in time for your al fresco beer breaks!

On Saturday and over the night of Sunday, parts of Germany were pummeled by strong thunderstorms. In Paderborn, they've been battling floodwaters in basements and various other problems. No reports of injuries, as of now. The roof of a production hall caved in under the weight of the water, and the Paderborn hospital saw some water damage, messing with their elevator service. The emergency services received over 400 calls between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Saturday.

Rain Retention Basin Find: debunked Tornado Scare

On Sunday morning, folks stumbled upon a vehicle submerged in a rain retention basin, located in the Paderborn district of Benhausen. The fire department was called in a panic, but it turned out the car owner was stuck there the day before and had vacated the scene.

Local folks have reported possible tornado sightings in Altenbeken close to Paderborn. The German Meteorological Service will delve into the incident to figure if it was indeed a twistertouchdown.

In various towns like Detmold, Bielefeld and others, we've seen fallen trees, sloppy roads, and jammed traffic. In Gymnich, Rhein-Erft district, a house's roof caught fire following a lightning bolt strike.
