Indiana Fever Secure Impressive Win Against Chicago Sky

The Indiana Fever continued their impressive run in the WNBA, defeating the Chicago Sky with a score of 93-78 at home on July 27, 2025. Kelsey Mitchell led the team with 35 points, including seven 3-pointers, while Aliyah Boston contributed 14 points, 11 rebounds, and six assists.

The Fever secured a 16-point lead early in the fourth quarter and managed to maintain their advantage despite a late push from Chicago. This victory marked the Fever's second win against the Sky in recent games, having previously beat them 92-70, with Mitchell scoring 26 points along with 3 rebounds and 8 assists.

In the absence of star player Caitlin Clark, Sophie Cunningham has stepped up her game. Cunningham has increased her scoring average to 12.4 points per game, boasting a 76.1 true shooting percentage and an impressive 45.5% shooting from beyond the arc. Her improved play has been a key factor in the Fever's ability to stay competitive.

Cunningham's versatility and defense have also contributed to the team's more aggressive and effective defensive approach under head coach Stephanie White, which includes higher turnover rates forced on opponents and improved coverage strategies.

The Sky, on the other hand, were without Angel Reese for a fifth consecutive game due to a back injury. Rachel Banham led the team with 11 points in the game, while Maddy Westbeld scored 10 points off the bench.

With the win, the Fever improved their record to 19-14. They will play their next game at home against the Dallas Wings on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. on ESPN. The Sky, meanwhile, will travel to Connecticut for their next game against the Connecticut Sun on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Mohegan Sun Arena.
