Soon to be unveiled on our site, Play: Heavy Tale - 'Una historia muy pesada', the compelling docuseries chronicling the lives and careers of Spanish bands Barón Rojo and Obús.
In a year that many metalheads are mourning the loss of the Prince of Darkness, Ozzy Osbourne, a unique concert event is set to take centre stage. The legendary Spanish bands, Obús and Barón Rojo, are set to perform together for the first time in history, in what promises to be a powerful display of music and camaraderie.
This concert, with the title suggesting a potent performance by Obús, "Prepare, the Obús is about to explode," is part of a head-to-head tour that aims to settle four decades of confrontation between the bands. The bands, who have been bitter enemies since the 80s, will be performing each other's songs on stage for the first time, a move that has sent waves of excitement through the Spanish heavy metal community.
The series "A Very Heavy Story," coming soon to our website Play, tells the story of Spanish metal, focusing on the bands Obús and Barón Rojo. The documentary reflects Spanish society and the political context from the mid-70s to the present day, providing a fascinating insight into the evolution of the Spanish heavy metal scene.
Heavy metal initially emerged as a cry of freedom and rebellion, originating mainly in working-class neighbourhoods and among the most humble classes. Spanish heavy metal bands, including Ñu, Leño, Asfalto, Mägo de Oz, Saratoga, and the current Warcry, were also inspired by Ozzy Osbourne.
The bands, Obús and Barón Rojo, are undisputed protagonists of Spanish metal. Alongside them, the documentary series "A Very Heavy Story" also features other prominent protagonists of the Spanish heavy metal scene, although the exact names of these additional musicians are not yet revealed.
The series consists of three chapters and the question remains if they will be able to perform each other's songs when the moment of truth comes. The trailer for "A Very Heavy Story" premiered at the South International Series Festival, generating a buzz among metalheads worldwide.
This tour could be the last of their careers, making it a must-see event for any fan of Spanish heavy metal. So, prepare to witness history in the making as Obús and Barón Rojo face off in a concert that promises to be a memorable event in the annals of Spanish heavy metal.
