Sony Brings Back Smiling Astro Bot DualSense Controller for PS5
Sony is bringing back the popular Astro Bot DualSense controller for the PS5 in a Joyful Limited Edition. The re-release, priced at around 80 €, features a subtle yet charming change: the 'eyes' of the PS5 mascot on the touchpad are now slightly squinted, giving it a 'smiling' appearance.
The Joyful Limited Edition controller will be available for pre-order starting September 12, 2025, at 10:00 AM via the official PlayStation Direct online shop and select partner retailers. Those eager to get their hands on the new controller can secure their order through PlayStation Direct, MediaMarkt, and Saturn. However, it's currently unavailable for pre-order at Amazon and Otto.
The controller is set to officially release on October 30, 2025. Despite the minor aesthetic change, the controller retains its original functionality and is expected to perform as well as the previous version, priced similarly at around 80 €.
