Sonic Youth lead guitarist Thurston Moore has joined forces with Luis Felber, husband of Lena Dunham and co-creator of 'Too Much', for his new musical project Attawalpa.
South American multi-instrumentalist Luis Felber's musical project, Attawalpa, is set to release its second record, "Experience", on a Friday. The digital-only release will be handled by Thurston Moore and Eva Prinz's indie record label, Daydream Library Series.
The album will be available on popular digital music platforms such as Apple Music, Amazon Music, and Tidal. In an exclusive arrangement, "Experience" will also be available in a Dolby Atmos-mastered version, offering listeners an immersive audio experience.
Luis Felber, who signed with Daydream Library Series, has expressed his admiration for Thurston Moore's guitar wielding, songwriting, and cultural contribution. He feels honoured to be a part of the Daydream Library Series family.
The album features collaborations with producer Matt Allchin, drummer Henry Danowski, Maurizio Ravalico (Jamiroquai), Freya Hicks, Adam Sopp, and has been expanded to a "family" of musicians.
Daydream Library Series, known for its focus on digital releases, is working with digital signal processing platforms to improve upon the quality of distribution and streaming. The label aims to enhance interactions of artists' recordings, storytelling, and art.
In a recent performance on "Too Much", Will Sharpe gave Attawalpa's tracks from "Experience" a "sort of Echo and the Bunnymen vibe".
Attawalpa's previous work includes the album "Presence" released in 2022, and two EPs. However, the current members of the group are yet to be disclosed.
The release of "Experience" marks another exciting addition to Daydream Library Series' growing catalogue, promising a unique listening experience for music enthusiasts. Stay tuned for more updates on Attawalpa's new album.
