Solo Success: Amy Lee's First Top Single Achieved Outside of Evanescence
Amy Lee, the Grammy-winning front person of Evanescence and a renowned figure in hard rock music for over two decades, has recently debuted a new song titled "End of You" on multiple charts in the United Kingdom.
The collaborative tune, also featuring Poppy and Courtney LaPlante, made its way onto the Official Singles chart, opening at No. 93. Interestingly, "End of You" nearly entered the top 10 on two other charts in the U.K., starting at No. 11 on the Official Singles Sales chart and No. 14 on the Official Rock & Metal Singles tally.
This isn't the first time Lee and Evanescence have made an impact on the UK charts. Their song "What You Want," released in September 2011, debuted at No. 72 on the Official Singles chart, marking their most recent appearance on the chart. Notably, "What You Want" is currently Evanescence's only song to have debuted on the Official Singles chart.
"What You Want" is also one of Evanescence's four No. 1 songs on the Official Rock & Metal Singles tally, joining "Bring Me to Life," "My Immortal," and "Lithium." "Bring Me to Life" is another standout achievement, as it also debuted at No. 10 on the Official Singles Downloads chart in the U.K.
Evanescence's latest song to appear on the Official Rock & Metal Singles tally is "Wasted on You," which spent one frame at No. 35 in May 2020. Meanwhile, Amy Lee's solo venture, "Afterlife," climbed into the top 40 on both the Official Singles Sales and Official Singles Downloads charts in April this year.
Courtney LaPlante, the frontwoman of the band Spiritbox, is another artist featured on "End of You." Poppy, a well-known artist in her own right, also lends her voice to the collaborative effort.
As Evanescence continues to shape the landscape of hard rock music, "End of You" serves as a testament to their enduring popularity and creative collaboration with other talented artists.
