In an exclusive interview with Zane Lowe for Apple Music 1, John shared that without Carlile's involvement, he may have retired his recording equipment permanently. "If it wasn't for Brandi and her genius, I fear I'd have hung up the microphone forever," he admitted, confiding that another solo venture would have driven him over the edge.

In a legendary career spanning over five decades, John has graced over 50 albums and released 34 studio albums, solo and otherwise. His latest album, "The Lockdown Sessions," rolled out in 2021, following the conclusion of his worldwide farewell tour "Farewell Yellow Brick Road" in July 2023.
