Sölden ski resort sees multiple injuries after collisions and rescue drama
A series of incidents on Monday left multiple skiers injured in the Austrian resort of Sölden. Around 1 p.m., a collision on the Rettenbach Glacier involved a 25-year-old skier and two siblings from Leipzig. Separately, a drunk tourist became trapped in a narrow gap between buildings, requiring rescue by firefighters.
The first incident occurred when the 25-year-old skier crossed a lift track on a blue run and collided with a brother and sister. The 31-year-old woman suffered a knee injury, while her 20-year-old brother escaped without harm. The 25-year-old man briefly lost consciousness on the slope before both injured skiers were taken to hospital.
Emergency services responded to both incidents in Sölden, ensuring the injured received medical care. The skier who lost consciousness and the tourist with hypothermia were among those hospitalised. Authorities have not released further updates on their conditions.
