Sofya Mezhninskaya shines with seven medals at Russian visually impaired swimming championships

The Russian Swimming Championships for visually impaired athletes took place in Kaluga from March 27 to 31. Nearly 120 swimmers from 25 regions competed in the event, with Sofya Mezhninskaya emerging as the standout performer. Sofya Mezhninskaya, a Master of Sport from Nizhny Novgorod, dominated the championships with six gold medals and one silver. Her strong results secured her a place at the European Championships later this year.

Under the guidance of coach Alexander Kudryashov, Mezhninskaya delivered a series of impressive performances. The event brought together athletes from across Russia, showcasing talent in visually impaired swimming.

Mezhninskaya's success in Kaluga has set her on course for international competition. Her seven medals and qualification for the European Championships mark a significant achievement in her career.
