Sochi's utility crews complete week-long repairs and infrastructure upgrades

Sochi's utility teams have carried out extensive repairs and maintenance across the city over the past week. Crews tackled emergencies in heating networks, fixed water main failures, and cleared storm drains. The work also included waste collection and addressing illegal dumping incidents. Emergency repairs took place on heating networks along Makarenko, Yasnogorskaya, and Krasnopolinskaya streets. Meanwhile, major water main failures were resolved on Olimpijskaya, Prigorodnaya, Uritskogo, and Estonskaya streets. No reports specified which streets in Sochi were affected by burst main pipes, nor were detailed repair records made public.

Utility workers also removed 33.5 cubic metres of debris and silt while repairing four stormwater inlets. In total, 6.7 kilometres of storm drains were cleared across 42 streets. Vodokanal completed the replacement of a damaged sewer main section on Chekhov Street, while crews in the Bytkha district installed new shutoff valves on main pipelines.

Specialists eliminated 73 leaks and 107 blockages to maintain stable infrastructure. The city collected over 3,600 tons of municipal solid waste using 72 specialised vehicles. Additionally, one case of illegal construction waste dumping was reported to the police. Preparations are now underway for further maintenance on Gorky Street. The repairs and upgrades ensure Sochi's infrastructure remains operational. With storm drains cleared, leaks fixed, and waste properly managed, the city's services continue to address both routine and emergency needs. Further maintenance on Gorky Street is expected to follow soon.
