Sochi Welcomes 7 Millionth Visitor, Braces for Busy Winter Season

Sochi is preparing for a lively autumn and winter season. Nearly 30 winter beach zones are set to open in November, and tourist arrivals are on par with last year. In September, hotel occupancy reached 84.2%, and while it dipped slightly to 75.8% in October, the city remains popular among visitors.

Irina Kravchenko, a resident of Syktyvkar, made headlines when she became the 7 millionth guest of Sochi in 2025. She was presented with a commemorative certificate and gifts to mark the occasion. This isn't Irina's first visit to Sochi; she has previously enjoyed activities like yacht trips and paragliding. As for the 8 millionth guest, no information is available yet.

Looking ahead, Sochi expects a significant influx of visitors during the New Year holidays. Around 280,000 overnight guests and approximately 200,000 day-trippers are anticipated to celebrate the festivities in the city.

With winter beach zones opening soon and consistent tourist arrivals, Sochi is poised for a vibrant autumn and winter season. The city welcomes visitors with open arms, as seen in the celebration of Irina Kravchenko's milestone visit. As the New Year approaches, Sochi looks forward to hosting a large number of guests eager to ring in 2026.
