Sochi to welcome Ilin for further professional pursuits, according to Karpov
Sochi Football Club is strengthening their attacking line with the signing of veteran striker Vladimir Ilyin. The 33-year-old forward will join the club on a contract until the end of the current season, marking a return to big football after a two-month break.
Ilyin, who has been teamless since June after his contract with " Факел" expired, boasts a rich experience and goal-scoring instinct that could be a valuable asset for Sochi. In 205 RPL matches, he has scored 37 goals and 16 assists.
The current coach of FC Sochi is Vladimir Fedotov, who will be looking to utilise Ilyin's skills effectively. Ilyin's debut for Sochi could be in the next match against CSKA on September 22.
Sochi Football Club finds itself in a challenging position, currently last in the standings after eight rounds, with only one point. This transfer is an opportunity for the club to turn things around and climb up the table.
It's worth noting that Ilyin has previously played for "Ural", "Akhmat", and "Krasnodar". His experience and familiarity with the Russian Premier League could prove crucial in Sochi's bid for survival.
Meanwhile, in unrelated news, Guberniev named Talalaev the best coach in Russia at the moment, while Svyischev called on "Zenit" to sue Rakitsky for defamatory statements. Additionally, Cherdansky criticized Stanovich for systematic disrespect towards referees. These facts, however, do not provide new information about Ilyin or Sochi Football Club.
Ilyin is set to arrive at Sochi Football Club on Thursday, September 18, and fans are eagerly awaiting his debut. With the club in need of a boost, Ilyin's arrival could be the spark that Sochi needs to start their climb up the table.
