Soccer season tickets for UH-Hilo's Vulcans athletics are now on sale
Hawaii Hilo Women's Soccer Kicks Off 2025 Season Ranked No. 24 in Preseason Poll
The Hawaii Hilo Women's Soccer team is set to begin their 2025 campaign with high expectations, as they have been ranked No. 24 in the United Soccer Coaches Division II Top 25 Preseason Poll. This ranking mirrors their strong finish in the 2024 season, where they ended as runners-up in the inaugural four-team Pacific West Conference Championships postseason tournament.
The Vulcans will face a challenging schedule, consisting of 16 matches, with eight home games at the Vulcan Soccer Field. The season opens with a home game against Chico State on Friday, September 5, 2025. Other home fixtures include matches against Westminster (Sept. 14), Biola (Oct. 9), Vanguard (Oct. 11), Hawaii Pacific University (Oct. 17), Point Loma (Oct. 23), Concordia (Oct. 25), and Chaminade (Nov. 6).
The early season is busy with a mixture of non-conference and conference play, including road trips to California and a non-conference game on Oahu against Chaminade on Sept. 20. Key details of their season schedule and opponents include a four-game trip through Northern California (Sept. 24 - Oct. 2) for Pacific West Conference play.
Under the guidance of longtime head coach Gene Okamura, the team is preparing for his 10th season, welcoming 16 newcomers including freshmen and transfers to complement their roster for the 2025 campaign.
Students, faculty, staff, and children ages 12 and under from the University of Hawaii at Hilo or Hawaii Community College can attend home matches at Vulcan Soccer Field for free with a valid ID card. Individual game tickets for adults cost $10. Season tickets for adults cost $75, seniors (65+) cost $40, and middle/high school students cost $40. Tickets can be purchased through the AudienceView Campus ticketing platform at HiloAthletics.com/tickets.
In the 2024-25 academic year, 96.8% of the Vulcans women's soccer team made the Academic All-PacWest Team with a 3.00+ cumulative GPA. The team also earned the U.S. Coaches Team Academic Award with a 3.54 team GPA during the same period.
Cal Poly Pomona claimed the national title in the 2024 season and sits atop the 2025 preseason poll. Only two teams from the Pacific West Conference were listed among the 697 programs to receive the College Team Academic Award. Both Vulcans Soccer teams qualified for the first-ever Pacific West Conference Championships postseason tournament in 2024.
