Football match abandoned due to altercation - Soccer Brawl in Halle: Match Abandoned, Teen Injured

Chaos erupted at the Leuna-Chemie-Stadium in Halle (Saale) on September 12, 2025, as a soccer match between Hallescher FC and BSG Chemie Leipzig ended in a brawl, leading to the game's abandonment. This is the second such incident in the region this season.

The match, which was not involving the team from Hanau, turned violent just before its conclusion. A group of around 30 people gathered, with the altercation escalating to the point where the game had to be called off. In the melee, a 19-year-old home team player was struck by a visiting player.

The Offenbach police are now investigating the incident, which resulted in two juveniles sustaining minor injuries. This is not the first time this season that a soccer match in the region has been abandoned due to a brawl. Earlier, a match in Bruchköbel-Niederissigheim was also called off after a 20-year-old home team player was fouled and subsequently hit by a visiting player.

The abandoned match in Halle (Saale) is under investigation by the Offenbach police. It serves as a reminder of the need for stricter measures to maintain order and safety at soccer matches, following a similar incident earlier this season in Ronneburg.
