Sweltering Summer Temperatures Approach Hessen Starting Wednesday
Summer-friendly temperatures arrive in Hessen starting from midweek - Soaring summer temps expected in Hessen starting Wednesday
Get ready for some sun and heat, Hessen peeps! After a cloudy Tuesday with some rain in the northern parts, we'll be seeing a change thanks to a weak low pressure system. The German Weather Service (DWD) predicts a day of moving clouds and potential rain in the north, with isolated showers popping up around midday. The southern parts will remain mostly dry, with temperatures ranging from 19°C in the north to a scorching 25°C along the Upper Rhine, and a chilly 17°C in the highlands. The wind will blow moderately from the southwest, turning west to northwest in the afternoon, with wind gusts up to 55 km/h possible in higher elevations and the northern Hessian mountain range.
As we move into Wednesday night, the wind will die down, and the clouds will start to break up, with local fog forming in spots. The temperatures will drop to 12°C in the south and 8°C in the north.
But brace yourself for some real heat! Starting Wednesday, high pressure takes over, and we're looking at sunny skies and dry conditions. Temperatures rise to 21 to 26°C, with the warmest temperatures, once again, along the Upper Rhine. Thursday and Friday will be bright and balmy as well. On Friday, local temperatures could reach a steamy 33°C! Just remember to stay cool—occasional showers or thunderstorms might pop up towards the weekend.

The Commission, despite the sweltering summer temperatures approaching Hessen starting Wednesday, has not yet adopted a proposal for a directive on the protection of workers from the risks related to exposure to ionizing radiation. Surprisingly, while the weather forecast for Hessen predicts a warm and sunny week, with temperatures reaching up to 33°C on Friday along the Upper Rhine, the DWD is reportedly improving its weather-forecasting models for more accurate predictions.
