Snowstorm Triggers Emergency in Nikolayevsky District After Power Failures
Nikolayevsky District has declared a state of emergency after heavy snowfall began on December 16, 2025. Strong winds and deep snow have disrupted transport, damaged buildings, and cut power to dozens of homes across the region.
The storm brought winds of 6 metres per second, with gusts up to 20 metres per second. In Krasnoye, a fallen power line left eight homes on Severnaya Street without electricity, while four nearby houses suffered roof damage. Meanwhile, in Nizhneye Pronge, 44 private residences lost power, and in Ozerpakh, 14 households have been without electricity since 6 a.m. after two utility poles collapsed.
The snowstorm has caused widespread disruption, with power outages, structural damage, and transport closures affecting multiple communities. Cleanup crews are working to restore access, but further delays are expected until conditions ease.
